Are there aftermarket upgrades that can void the 7yr audi warranty?

I want to start some upgrades: tires, wheels, APR ECU, exhaust. But before I begin, I'm wondering about how these things will affect my warranty. Anybody??

Are there manufacturers who are partnered w/ Audi, and there work doesn't affect the warranties??Are there aftermarket upgrades that can void the 7yr audi warranty?Simply installing anything will not void any warranty. Read the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. In order for the manufacturer to decline a warranty repair because of aftermarket parts, they have to prove the aftermarket part is directly responsible for the failure. If you have an engine failure after installing an aftermarket exhaust, for example, they cannot in any way, prove the exhaust caused the failure, so they would have to cover it. If you modify the ECU and it runs lean, causing you to put a hole in a piston, as soon as they see the damage, they will know what caused it. If they scan the parameters of the engine and see the leaner fuel tables, your warranty is void. So you want to make sure you go with a tuning setup that is more powerful, but still safe. Tires and wheels won't affect anything.

As a consumer, do yourself a favor, and print out a copy of the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act and keep it in your glovebox with the warranty paperwork. Then, if something should happen, you can let them know as soon as they get the car that A)you know the law and your rights, and B)they can't push you around. Are there aftermarket upgrades that can void the 7yr audi warranty?
APR has ecu's that operate through your cruise control and can be turned on and off with several performance modes. They are supposedly undetectable by dealer VAG computers. Contact them they are awesome with german cars. Also, even if you modify the car and something happens the dealer has to prove that the parts you added caused the malfunction. Tires and wheels are definitely safe. Are there aftermarket upgrades that can void the 7yr audi warranty?anything you do, has the potential to void a factory warranty, why you would even consider this is beyond my comprehension. Is the car paid off yet? do you realize that paying down the principal can save you a thousand dollars or more in interest? depending on the interest rate.? for car loans there are usually no penalties for early payment. Just make sure to make a scheduled payment as well .
And worse, if there is an accident all those mods are worthless as far as what you paid for them. Use your head. Don't be like this other guy who put 17grand into a car, complete suspension modifications, , expensive Racing brakes, performance engine parts, and on and on, body kit, expensive paint job. And some drunk plows through an intersection and sideswipes it that's bad enough but even worse, he was upside down in his loan. the insurance barely paid off the car, he has 17 grand in mods to a totaled car, and there was no money for him to get a car. Had he used the money wisely, and paid down a major portion of the loan, and did just a few mods, he would have Still had enough to get a nice car. You have to think with your brain on this. use the money wisely, own the car, out of warranty before dumping thousands into it. good luck. Are there aftermarket upgrades that can void the 7yr audi warranty?
What sort of warranty is it ? Altering the engine or gearbox can void warranty. Changing the ECU will almost always void a warranty. Stuff like Tyres/wheels are alrite but exhaust and ecu are a no no unless you ask your local dealership. Are there aftermarket upgrades that can void the 7yr audi warranty?as it's virtually impossible to claim on these warranties I wouldn't worry about it, what you are intending will completely invalidate any warranty if you want upgraded cars buy an S model (S4, S6, S7 etc) or go to BMW or merc who have agreements with several approved tuning firms
