Hey I really want an 2006 Audi A4 2.0T but I am not sure how it will react to the Alaskan winter. I am being sent to Fairbanks for work and I will be hours from the nearest Audi dealer in Anchorage. Is this a bad situation? How will an Audi 2.0T perform in an Alaskan winter?well being a few hours away for the dealer ship should be fine if you can change you own oil and there is a dealer somwhere around. this should be true for any vehicle. As for the car in the weather its is the perfect car. the quattro AWD is amazing on snow and ice it is very predictable probably the best AWD ive driven. the rust proffing is also very good you should easily get 12 years + before you see any rust. i would get the cold wheather package. How will an Audi 2.0T perform in an Alaskan winter?I have a Audi TT 180 hp....Tires are critical...w/o good winter tires forget it....also anti lock brakes suck in snow driving...if its too slippery the anti lock kicks in and its if you have no brakes !How will an Audi 2.0T perform in an Alaskan winter?Audi's are the best AWD cars. It will be fine. How will an Audi 2.0T perform in an Alaskan winter?
The distance to the dealer will suck. You need and engine and battery heaters to plug in for those -50F nights that last all day. They run on gas and synthetic oil which will be good things for up there. But you have to have those heaters or the beast will never start and your battery will freeze and crack and ruin the car.
Ret USAF SNCO- Been there and Grand Forks, ND too
