i have a 2000 Audi A4 B5 1.8 SE, i know you can get 1.8t's but i was wondering if i was to get the turbo off of a 1.8t, can i just bolt it on to my 1.8 without any big modifications? Can i just bolt a turbo onto my Audi A4?Unfortunately it will not be that simple... you will need the all the manifolds
intake and exhaust and exhaust system and a Turbo ECM with different
injectors and may? have to change the cylinder headCan i just bolt a turbo onto my Audi A4?The engine is spec'd out as having a 9.5/1 compression ratio which is at the upper limit (but with in) for street quality turbo chargers. Most automobile engines in this range can take boost to 7.5 with out major modifications. The set up or compete engine off a 1.8T would be the surest way to go. This includes the injectors, ECM, Exhaust header, turbo and all associated piping.
However, I am confused on this because Motor Trend and Auto World site state that the 1.8 was turbo charged from the factory.
