What does it mean when the oil light in an audi 1998 a4 is blinking and there is no oil faultage?

.What does it mean when the oil light in an audi 1998 a4 is blinking and there is no oil faultage? It depends on the light. If its where your mileage is then its your minor service indicator. It will come on every 12 months if it doesnt get reset. If its an oil can and is red, then you're looking at a most likely concern of oil pressure provided the pressure switch is ok. You would need to check it with a mechanical guage to double check. What does it mean when the oil light in an audi 1998 a4 is blinking and there is no oil faultage? It can only mean that either a oil serving or oil change is required due to mileage or that the oil pressure or oil level is wrong. If you've not changed the oil and filter in awhile I'd start there, personally I like to change the oil and filter in half or a 3rd of the factory recommended mileage.

If it is oil pressure related even gunk in the engine could cause such pressure problems or a bad connection or wire or oil pressure sensor. It might not be a bad idea to flush that engine with something like STP especially if it's got 100,000 to 150,000 miles or more on it.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way I'd have a free scan done it and read the owners manual or call up the dealership. What does it mean when the oil light in an audi 1998 a4 is blinking and there is no oil faultage? If your oil is full and car runs fine then either your oil pump went or the oil sensor on the pan went. If the oil pump goes you would be hearing more valve noise/ tapping. Go to autozone or a similiar type auto supply and have your codes read for free it may help pinpoint the problem.

Could also be a plugged oil filter the german ones such as meyle have a bypass valve that protects the engine if they plug up aftermarket purolator etc... do not. What does it mean when the oil light in an audi 1998 a4 is blinking and there is no oil faultage?
Your oil pressure is low. That's all.

Check the stick, and add the required amount.
