I have an Audi A4 2.4 1998, why recently I can't start engine on "P", and I had to start by putting it on "N"?

Anyone had similar problem? How much would this cost to fix?I have an Audi A4 2.4 1998, why recently I can't start engine on "P", and I had to start by putting it on "N"?Take it to an Audi tech. They can check the transmission computer for any fault codes. Most likely they will find a code for the transmission range sensor. This is a switch the fits on the side of the tranny. You can find them cheap at http://www.highspeedautoparts.comI have an Audi A4 2.4 1998, why recently I can't start engine on "P", and I had to start by putting it on "N"?bad neutral safety switch as far as cost all depends on where you take itI have an Audi A4 2.4 1998, why recently I can't start engine on "P", and I had to start by putting it on "N"?it is true you can not start the engine because YOUR car is not AUTOMATIC Trans.

Automatic used P to start

YOUR is a Manual Trans. used N to start.

COST to fix none ( 0%)
