I know that the rear spoiler AND ESP was introduced around that time, which are both safety features. When looking at TT's look to make sure it has a spoiler, if you want, and an ESP especially if you live anywhere it can snow. Most of them will have ESP however, but not the spoiler because it was an optional recall. Cosmetically aside from that there isn't much, because there both MK1 tt's and the MK 2 wasn't introduced years later.
