The service light just went on my 2006 Audi A4 at 30k miles. The dealer says the next service is at 35k - so that makes me wonder, why is the light on? Can this be due to tampering with the miles on the car or is this a common thing that it "misses" 5k miles?!Why is did the service light go on my'06 Audi A4 despite 5k miles left to service?This might sound crazy, but your little A4 is pretty intelligent... The CPU (computer) unit is able to adjust it's settings and augment service notices based on the drivers style/conditions. If you are a more aggressive driver the vehicle will request an earlier checkup to avoid fluid breakdown, contaminated oil, clogged filters, sensor failure, etc.. Actually, in the owners manual under maintenance it should give service intervals with a "~" after it, meaning "give or take" (or approximately). This is because every driver/condition is different and the computer adjusts it's self accordingly. So ideally, service is every 10,000miles, but most people end up getting it done every 9,000miles because that's what their computer indicates based on how they drive...

Need to call Audi and have it towed in. Stop driving it. You don't want to damage your transmission. A child's vertabrae do not fully fuse until 3-6 years old, before then, she is at great risk for internal decapitation. The spinal column can stretch up to 2 inches in a crash BUT the spinal cord can only stretch up to 1/4 inch before it snaps and baby is gone. In other countries, rear facing 2 - 3 - 4 year olds is standard, they understand that its safer. Here, we turn them as soon as we get to, seeing it as a right of passage thing or something. Ridiculous. Most convertible seats have a 30lbs rear facing limit, Cosco/Dorel/Safety1st/Eddie Bauer seats rear face to 35lbs, Britax rear faces to 33lbs.

Now imagine that skinny cup with pointy edges. That's what putting your hand through these to install them is like. AND they have too short a shell to really go to 40lbs. And that's another misleading thing the box says - 5-100lbs. What the box fails to mention (you don't find out until reading the manual!) is that the harness only goes to 40lbs, NOT 100lbs! After 40lbs it must be used as a booster.And they do not make good boosters. Also, most kids have to use boosters until they're at least 8 years old. Car seats expire 6 years after the date of manufacture, so no matter what they say it is NOT the last seat you'll ever need to buy.
The Britax Marathon/Boulevard/Decathalon (These 3 are the same seat, just different variances of luxury additions, with the Marathon being the cheapest base model) can be found for regular price of $269, and on sale at Albee Baby online for $209-$219. The Marathon a wide open easy to route belt path, which makes using it correctly a lot easier, as do the built in lockoffs, which mean you never again have to use a locking clip. I can get it into 4 different vehicles in under 2 minutes. Because of the way the base is made, it fits in most cars. And, it is worth the money, b/c it lasts usually twice as long as most other car seats (all car seats expire 6 years after the date of manufacture) lasting a baby till they are 5-6 years old, where most at Walmart will only last till 2-4 years old. Rear faces to 33lbs, then forward to 65lbs. and top slots 17inches tall, lasts most kids to ages 5-6 years old.

These are the best you can buy that will give you the most bang for your buck. As a single parent I'm always watching the budget - I have no money to speak of, and these are what I would buy. (My son has a marathon and is soon getting a Britax Regent). They will last the longest. The previous answer said that you had to take it to Audi because it was a Quattro. Think about this - all cars have 4 tires, and all of them have to be aligned and balanced. If they weren't, even on a front-wheel-drive car, the back two wheels would be wobbling and bouncing around, because they weren't aligned. Any tire store can do this for you, and sometimes they will include a rotation/alignment if you are going for a deluxe or package oil change/service.

If its at the headunit, then you will have to pull the radio, do not disconnect it! If you do, then you will have to know the anti-theft code- and usually people when they buy their cars second-hand, often do not get the code. To get the code, it involves a trip to the dealer and $60 bucks later. If its disconnected at the CD changer, take out the CD changer, and there will be a thick black cable somewhere back there where the changer resides, reconnect it.

Ok, I know this sounds odd, but I just bought this car and it didn't come with an owner's manual and I have no idea about an all-wheel drive. The Audi Quattro is a great snow car, make sure you have proper winter tires on to avoid any sliding.
If there is a lot of snow around, downshift to a lower gear, put your transmission on 1.

S4 is pretty powerful, but audi's kinda have reliability problems... many sensors, overheating problems... i personally like bmw's more... but from experience, i would say to get it, if u like it... just gotta be aware of a couple of things... do a an inspection on the car before u buy. go to a car repair shop that specializes in Euro cars, (Audi, BMW, mercedes).. they will ispect it for like 60 bucks, and tell you EVERYTHING that is wrong with it. its worth it because dealers who sell german cars, normally try to hide many things... like i said, very complex computers and sensors and Oxygen sensors... too many to list... gotta be safe than sorry

The cigarette lighter in my car is not working. I push the button in but it does not get hot. I know the socket works because I use it for my radar detector. I tried going in to my local auto parts store but they did not sell a replacement for Audis. Any recommendations for where I can find one online or from a different auto parts store? Audi doesn't market the Certified Pre Owned as well as BMW. Audi does off special rates and lease terms for new and used Audis, but very few people know about it. BMW on the other hand is so well advertised that if you're in the market for an entry level sedan, look no further than a CPO BMW 3 series with a special 3.9% rate for up to 60 months!

its armrest lid is not functioning properly. so I need to get it changed (just armrest lid, not whole armrest).

I have looked online and through ebay and cannot find a radio for my car. I would prefer to go stock or go with the rns-e or rns-d. Or if anyone knows of any other in dash dvd/navi systems and where to buy that would be great. ThanksWhere can I find a radio for my 2002 audi a6?I drive a 2004 Audi S4 (B6). I removed the factory Symphony II radio and installed a RNS-E unit. It was very easy and a great investment. I love the navigation system and display. Also, it is nice to have all of my music in mp3 form. The RNS-E unit has two SD card slots behind the screen. You can buy a 2GB SD card for about $25, and fit a ton of music on it.

As for the RNS-E, make sure you get a US unit, not European. I want the Audi R8 to have the "Donk" wheels and suspension height, even though the engine on the Audi R8 is in the back and the engine in the '70 Chevelle SS is in the front. I'm thinking about buying a Manual 1990 Audi 90 2.3 (5 cylinder) Petrol, I know fuel economy gets worse with age and im not expecting anything fantastic from this huge engine, but does anybody have any idea, or even better, experience of owning one of these cars that can tell me the average combined MPG of this car, it will be much appreciated, Thanks.

The Audi gives me at least 23-25 in town and near 30 on the highway when I drive wisely. Even if I let it exercise its spirit, I can get 27 or so.
I know this is not the exact car you have, but the engine and transmission seem to be the same, and they are nearly the same age. If my Quattro can do that well, I think you could coax at least that or more from your car.
How you drive will make a difference, of course, and so will your driving conditions. I'm not sure why you called it a huge engine, as that converts to just a bit over 140 cubic inches. My old Chrysler New Yorker had a 440 cid engine, or a shade over 7.2 liters, and it gave me (back when gas was 50 cents a gallon, fortunately) a top of 15 mpg.
Anyway, enjoy your Audi. It's a fine car. How you drive will make a difference, of course, and so will your driving conditions. I'm not sure why you called it a huge engine, as that converts to just a bit over 140 cubic inches. My old Chrysler New Yorker had a 440 cid engine, or a shade over 7.2 liters, and it gave me (back when gas was 50 cents a gallon, fortunately) a top of 15 mpg.

Usually you remove the bulb after removing a cover at the rear of the light unit. You should not have to remove the whole headlamp unit to do it.
