I broke my 1999 audi a4 key in two pieces about how much would a replacement cost?

I don't know how it happened but when i took it out of my pocket it was split in two. I saw some keys on ebay that weren't cut but i dont know if you can cut and use those. anyhow about how much would a replacement key that works for sure cost me?I broke my 1999 audi a4 key in two pieces about how much would a replacement cost?Best to go to an Audi dealer,it could be better to replace the lock and not the key,.
