How to replace a brake light bulb (on the passenger side) on an Audi A4 Year 2001?

Front lights are replaced by losing two slack nuts on the bottom of the front light and undoing the ones on the front top of the headlight. Remove the front light casing and then replace light bulb. Rear lights are bolted on the side and have a nut which is covered in the boot of the car on the inside of the light. Undo this and the light comes away from the side of the car for the lights bulbs to be replaced. This advice is for the newer shape A4 2001 - may be relevant to the old.

Some Audi's are know for their minor electrical issues. I have found that the housings have a single filament - but you need dual filament bulbs for them in order to get a good contact - just ensure you have a good contact between the bulb and the housing as I have noticed on occasions its not the bulb its the connection that is not right. How to replace a brake light bulb (on the passenger side) on an Audi A4 Year 2001?Here is an excellent tutorial (with photos!) on the procedure:

New bulbs can be found at Pep Boys, Wal Mart, Advance Auto, etc. If you ask these guys nicely, they may install it for you if the store isn't busy. All that customer service, and all. Most likely, you have to pull the lining out from the inside of your truck near the light. That's a common access point for taillight bulbs.
