Does audi a4 need its timingbelt replaced is that true?

I'm thinking about buying 2001 audi a4 with 92k miles

for $5900, this will be my first car

is it true that almost every audi a4s need to get their timing belt changed at 100k miles?Does audi a4 need its timingbelt replaced is that true?Try every 65-70K. It is not just the timing belt, it is also the water pump, thermostat, timing belt tensioner, and the rollers. Oh, and $5900 is too much, offer them 5500.

By the way, if this is your first car, I would advise against it. Audi's are fairly expensive to maintain.Does audi a4 need its timingbelt replaced is that true?Yes you should definately replace your timing belt along with your thermostat, tensioner, waterpump. Audi had a recall come out to customers with 1.8t engines to get their timing belts checked. The belts have been breaking prematurely because in reality 105k is too long to go without changing it.Does audi a4 need its timingbelt replaced is that true?Yeah I wouldn't recommend this as a first car either. I hope you've got about $1000-1500 just to do that major service for the timing belt/water pump. After that, repairs aren't cheap, probably won't get out of a service shop for less then $500. Buy a beater for now, get a nice car when you're older and can afford to do so properly. Nothing I hate seeing more then a quality car destroyed by some kid or someone who can't afford to maintain it correctly.
