What would happen if you put the wrong transmission fluid in my audi a6?

If I did it, I spill it all over the place! LOL ...just kidding Transmission may slip and may be VERY difficult to shift especially if the vehicle is left in heat.What would happen if you put the wrong transmission fluid in my audi a6?Transmission might slip or not shift right. Worse case is that it could damage seals. Replace with the correct fluid if you have not already done so.
