I had a friend that bought a 2000 TT and I bought a 2000 Contour. He had the better car, right? Ha! Nicer? Sure, when it was not in the shop, but better? No way. He had problems with the suspension, power windows, glovebox latch, exhaust. All I did with my Ford was regular maintenance.
If you don't believe me, check with consumer reports or JD Power, you don't see these cars winning any reliability awards.
Get rid of it and buy a Honda or Toyota.I have an Audi TT, Sometimes it will start, run for a second, then stall. No check engine light comes on.?As an experiment, try cycling the ignition key from off to on (but not start) several times before you first start the car. Turn the key on, wait 4 seconds or so, then turn the key off for 10 seconds and then repeat several times. You may hear the fuel pump in your gas tank run each time you turn the key on. This will prime the gas lines and if the car then starts better, you can tell your technician what you did and that will point him to diagnosing a fuel delivery problem. The fuel pressure should not bleed off rapidly from your injectors.I have an Audi TT, Sometimes it will start, run for a second, then stall. No check engine light comes on.?The problem is that you have an Audi TT in the first place, those cars are a death trap, I have personally know people who had a lot of trouble with the TT, the only difference was they are problems when the car was driving down the motorway and the steering gave in, lucky there was no one near enough and they slammed on the breaks.
Sorry not much help, my advice is to get your car seen to and buy something a bit more reliable,
Best of luck
