Only occurs on the motorway after driving approx 50 miles between 70 %26amp; 80 mph, it feels like some sort of blockage is occurring and just goes flat which can be a problem if overtaking at the time. If I switch engine off for a while it returns to normal performance and only ever does it when I've been driving on motorway. Any clues please ?Does anyone have any ideas as to why my 2003 Audi A3 1.9 TDI Quattro loses acceleration ?I think it's your MAF.Does anyone have any ideas as to why my 2003 Audi A3 1.9 TDI Quattro loses acceleration ?cos your car is a diesel im not sure if it has one but on mine (Pug 106 GTi) i had the same problem, if i remember correctly it was the map sensor or lambda sensor which controls the amont of air that is put into the engine, the sensor was knackered so it wasnt letting enough air in thus less power. as i say i dont know if diesel's have these.
other than that it could be your e.c.u playing upDoes anyone have any ideas as to why my 2003 Audi A3 1.9 TDI Quattro loses acceleration ?I would take it to an Audi dealer for an investigation. They will use a diagnostics machine which plugs into your car and should reveal faults. Faults are logged by the car's engine computer. Ask for a report, don't give them authority to proceed unless you are happy with the report and the estimate.
