If the brakes are bad on an Audi, will the engine light come on?

i called autozone to ask if they would do diagnostics on an Audi and i also told them i know the car needs rear brake pads and they said that the engine light would come on if the car needs brake pads, even though it is not engine/motor related.

anyone know if this is accurate information? If the brakes are bad on an Audi, will the engine light come on?Not everyone who works at Autozone is an automotive genius. They get their share of mental midgets the same as any other business. The brakes are not tied to the engine computer. Also the front brake pads carry the majority of the braking load and wear out faster than the rears do. Many times the rear brakes will only need changed every other time the fronts are done. However they should still be checked everytime to be absolutely sure they're OK.If the brakes are bad on an Audi, will the engine light come on?
the engine light won't come on if you need brake pads. They haven't got a clue what they are talking about.

they can do a free check for the check engine light on the Audi as long as it is 1996 or later. All cars with OBD II have a standard test connector and standardized failure codes that tell what the cause of the light being on is, so there isn't any reason why they can't do the test.If the brakes are bad on an Audi, will the engine light come on?no. no cars have that feature that i know ofIf the brakes are bad on an Audi, will the engine light come on?
I think the only lights that come from the breaks are the faulty ABS or hand (park) break.

other than that the Engine light is related to the Engine, combustion exhaust and oil

If the break pads are warn out they start to squeeck as they have little bush indicators when they come in touch with the disks they start to squeackIf the brakes are bad on an Audi, will the engine light come on?No, if your brakes are bad as a driver you can feel it and most likely hear it. You engine light comes on its something different, but I wouldn't wait to get it checked out
